Visiting Scholar Programs

The Halle Institute has brought distinguished international scholars to Emory over several years through partnership with the Fulbright Commissions in Brazil, Korea, India and South Africa. We are pleased to announce a new partnership program with DAAD to bring visiting scholars from Germany in 2025-26.

The Halle Institute also hosts the annual Turkish Lecture, which regularly draw a crowd of more than 100 people.

Miseong Woo (pictured), Director of the Institute of East and West Studies and professor at Yonsei University, was the inaugural Fulbright Korea Distinguished Chair in Spring 2020 and winner of a 2020 collaborative research grant sponsored by the Halle Institute and Yonsei University.
